Behind the scenes of Bloom True with Flora Bowley (and a course giveaway!)

UPDATE (Feb 3): This course has now SOLD OUT! Registration is open for the June course if you want to secure your place early!

Back in September I spent four fantastic days in Portland, Oregon staying with Flora Bowley and filming all the video content for Bloom True: the e-course, Flora’s first online course which starts on Monday.

I am not quite sure how I managed to keep the trip quiet because I was so excited to be in Flora’s brand new studio, working with professional cameraman Kevin Balmer, professional photographer Stephen Funk and the lady herself, Flora Bowley – one of the most authentic, inspiring, awesome women I have ever met.

We were blessed with glorious sunshine (perfect for yoga in the park…)

… and I was mesmorised as two giant original paintings unfolded before my very eyes. When I took the very first workshop Flora ever taught some time ago, she forever changed the way I paint.

Since then hundreds of people all have benefited from inspiring, emotional and deeply fulfilling painting experiences with her in her workshops all over the world.

So it is a huge honour for me to have been able to produce Flora’s first ever online course, which is going to bring her unique painting style, process and philosophy to so many more people.

On the eve of the unveiling of a new kind of painting course (there is nothing quite like this anywhere!), I wanted to share some pictures from behind the scenes of putting together the course.

These few days were just the beginning – we have been working on it for four months solid since, but the majority of the magic happened as the paintings evolved!

And to celebrate it we are giving away a FREE PLACE! One person who signs up for Bloom True: the e-course in the next 48 hours will have their place refunded!  ***UPDATE: Feb 3 – this course has now SOLD OUT. You can register early for the June course here***

We will pick the name at random and announce it here!

There are only a handful of spaces left so register now and come and join us for a five week painting adventure!  UPDATE Feb 3: This has now SOLD OUT. Early registration for the June course is open here

Not signed up because unfortunately I’m on such a tight budget that the end of the month is always a race to see if my wages last.
However it looks like a brilliant course so hopefully I may catch it the next time round and I’m busy saving up for Flora’s book – I’ll be watching the blogs etc for snippets of what’s going on ( a bit like pressing my face up against the window of the cake shop …lol)

Flora forever changed the way I paint as well …. during her workshop I struggled so much … comparing myself, feeling out of sorts creating in front of others …. what i didn’t know is the impact it had on me once i was home … once i pulled out a canvas and my paints and began to explore … SO much has emerged and i am more and more free as i create. Thanks to Flora!

she is an amaze-balls teacher and huge inspiration!!!

her e-course will be nothing short of magical … i am certain of that.

thank you for this inside glimpse and all the wonderment unfolding!!

Oh, after years of searching for a way to express how I feel- I´ve tried Claudine Hellmuth, Tim Holtz, Heidi Swapp and Katie Kendrick, and I do love Danny Gregory, all have their own styles and I like them all- but when I friend told me she was looking forward to start the course with Flora Bowley- I had to check it out- and when I saw Flora with her HUGE painting, spraying water over it and letting loose together with the paint I felt I had finally found my true mentor- the woman who could show me how to go about finding my own strokes- in a wild and yet disciplined manner- color- and so powerful way.

I´m so sad now that I don´t have the necessary funds to afford this class at this moment in my life.

  41. Val Hebert says:

I am so intrigued about everything I’m hearing about Flora’s class, and don’t think I can squeeze another thing in as I finish up HSHB, and have the Surface Pattern Design class coming up very soon… but I know this will be in my future. Beth, you are an amazing and forward thinking woman doing all you do, and I admire and applaud you for it!
    x, Val
