Bonfire night
For me ‘Bonfire Night’ conjours up images of dark chilly nights at the onset of Winter, smoky air and sparklers, mittened hands wrapped around hot wine.
Yesterday dawned cold and clear, and when evening came the sky was pricked with a million stars.
We zipped up our boots, buttoned up our jackets, wrapped scarves round and round, and headed off to the local park for a spectacular fireworks display above the dancing flames of a proper bonfire.
Fire and food – primal and comforting. Spotting shapes in the flames – as fun now as it was when I was six.
Bonfire Night. There’s nothing like it.

We were up the hill with a flask mulled cider and sparklers watching groups of people on the other side of the hill with their sparklers. Such a good view from there. x
Sounds dreamy!
