A few months ago we mentioned that we’d be bringing some new guest bloggers on board to share new and interesting perspectives on the subject of Doing What You Love… and here they are!
Our guest bloggers are all experts in their field and we’re delighted to have them on board. They will be posting on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Louise Armstrong
Louise is fascinated by what makes people tick. She is driven by a curiosity focused on understand our evolving cultures and what it means to be human in the 21st century. She loves creating creative spaces for people to think differently in order to connect, explore, stop and question the world around them. She does this through her work at Forum for the Future, bringing people together to help navigate and collaborate in a world in flux. Louise also catalyses new experiments from art exhibitions like Focus Out, a crowd-funded letterpress magazine The Luddite to developing a community led urban park in her local area.

Frances Booth
Frances Booth is an author, journalist and blogger, whose influential first book, The Distraction Trap: How to Focus in a Digital World has been translated into six languages. She is a thought leader in the fields of digital distraction and digital detox and is regularly called on by the media to comment on digital life. Frances has been featured in many publications worldwide including Wired, Vanity Fair, The Huffington Post, Psychologies Magazine and The Sunday Telegraph. She has appeared on air for broadcasters including Sky and the BBC. Frances blogs regularly for Forbes and has worked and written for UK national newspapers including The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph for more than 10 years. Alastair Humphreys
Alastair is an adventurer, blogger, author and motivational speaker. As well as expeditions such as cycling round the world, walking across India and rowing the Atlantic, Alastair was named as a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year for his pioneering work on the concept of microadventures, trying to encourage people to get outside, get out of their comfort zone, go somewhere they’ve never been. A microadventure is an adventure that is close to home, cheap, simple, short, and yet very effective. Alastair has written five books about his adventures. He is very well-regarded as a motivational speaker for corporate events and schools. He produces a monthly newsletter with the highlights of the blog and important expedition news. Ben Keene
Ben is passionate about building experiences and communities that inspire positive change. He is the founder of Tribewanted (off-grid experiences) and was behind the success of building an online and on-island community on Vorovoro, Fiji. He wrote a book about this which was also filmed for the award winning BBC series: Paradise or Bust. Ben has worked with Right to Dream (leadership development through sport in West Africa) and Escape the City (Unleashing frustrated corporates into fulfilling careers), hosting the first career-change ‘Escape Festival’ in 2014. Ben is a regular speaker and host on startups, travel and social enterprise, a mentor to escapees and first-time entrepreneurs, a Founding Participant at THNK: The Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership, and a business advisor at Virgin Startup. Lara Tabatznik
Lara is the Founder of 42 Acres, a modern rustic farmhouse retreat center, set deep in the hills of Somerset, England. 42 Acres, is set to open summer of 2015 and will curate retreats focused on transformation, healing and social change. Before the inception of 42 Acres, Lara founded the Bertha Foundation. Bertha supports activists, storytellers, and entrepreneurs who are creating change in the world. Through her experience working for non-profit organizations, Lara realized she wanted to create something bigger than herself that would help change lives. Lara’s passion for holistic change was deepened while traveling through India, Nepal, Southeast Asia and Australia. Lara hopes that 42 Acres will become a new model for change, combining both the inner and outer work.
