Over the last few weeks we have been revealing the companies that are participating in our Live Briefs for Module 4 of ‘The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design (the e-course)’. Module 4 is an advanced seven week course in which you will learn everything you need to know about building your professional portfolio as a surface pattern designer. We have poured everything into this and it is going to be awesome. Below is a round-up of the truly amazing companies that we have announced as part of Module 4.

In our very first Live Brief reveal we announced that wonderful textile company ‘Dashwood Studio’ would be joining us on Module 4. The UK based studio produces beautiful, design-led fabric collections, including three of our talented ABSPD Alumni; Phyllida Coroneo, Wendy Kendall and Bethan Janine. We cannot wait to share their live brief with you.

Our second announcement revealed that modern, think-outside-the-box home furnishings company DENY Designs would also be collaborating with us for a Module 4 Live Brief. DENY Designs is a company that really shows the impact and power of surface pattern design and the range it can have.

Currently DENY Design produces over 30 homewares products with plans to expand. It is wonderful to see the versatility you can get from one design. Their team of artists even includes some of our ABSPD Alumni such as Loni Harris, Wendy Kendall, Tammie Bennett and Vy La. Course leader Rachael Taylor has collaborated with DENY Designs herself and cannot sing their praises enough.

UK based greeting card publisher Card Crazy became the third Live Brief contributor to join our amazing line up. Card Crazy invest a lot of time in designing beautiful greetings cards. They love to celebrate and showcase their designers ensuring that they share in the success of their designs. Rachael loves her own collection with Card Crazy and we are very excited for them to share their Live Brief.

Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine joined us as our fourth Live Brief announcement. Cardmaking & Papercraft were the first cardmaking title to open up the market nine years ago and are still the UK’s number one cardmaking magazine.

They showcase the UK’s best papercraft designers and the hottest new trends, deliver the latest techniques and give their readers high quality, high value cover gifts every issue.

Our fifth Live Brief reveal announced that prestigious stationery company Crane & Co. would be providing a Module 4 Live Brief! Crane & Co. have been dedicated to the art of classic correspondence for more than two centuries.

A family-owned company since 1801, Crane is the USA’s oldest stationer. Before the United States of America were united, and still today, Crane was the choice of Revolutionary patriots, presidents, first ladies, Kings and Queens, captains of industry, heads of state and just about any celebrity who has stepped onto the red carpet.

In 2012 Crane also acquired William Arthur which creates beautifully printed, contemporary stationery that turns once-in-a-lifetime occasions into lasting memories. This is going to be one special Live Brief.

For our sixth reveal we announced that innovative wallpaper design company Graham & Brown would be joining us to help create a Live Brief for Module 4.

Since their founding in 1946 Graham & Brown has started a wallpaper revolution, built up a solid team of employees and customers, launched the now famous ‘Superfresco’ brand and created associations with some of the world’s best designers including Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Julien Macdonald, Amy Butler, hemingwaydesign, Marcel Wanders and most recently Kelly Hoppen.

This is an amazing opportunity to gain REAL DESIGN EXPERIENCE from amazing briefs along with the chance to present your work to exciting, well-established & innovative companies!
