When you think about a shop selling cosmetics and toiletries what comes to mind? Something clean and white? Or perhaps slick and black? Or the bright busy interior of a drugstore? Well this is what my kind of beauty shop looks like…
Yojiya has a number of branches around the city but my favourite is this one, tucked away beside The Philosopher’s Path. You enter through a wooden gate, and skip through the Japanese garden across stepping stones to a small wooden hut where all their delicious natural products are displayed.
You can take a rest on the bench outside, or take tea at the tea house at the other end of the garden. Now that’s what I call shopping!
