Life in jellybeans…

Watching this reminded us about how precious life really is and why it’s important to make the most of each and every day. It’s never too late to change direction and it’s never too late to become the person you want to be.

Here are our top five tips for living life to the full… no excuses, no explanations, no regrets!

1. Explore your passions and find out what YOU love: Try things – try everything! Explore. What makes you smile? What makes your heart sing? Do it… and make time to keep doing it! Find other people who share your passion and it will boost your motivation. These 8 thought-provoking questions will help you figure out where your heart lies.

2. Push past your comfort zone: There’s no room for adventure and excitement where it’s safe. As the age-old saying goes: ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’. Taking chances and trying new things – even if they scare you – is what makes us feel alive; it’s what keeps us learning and growing and it’s how we come to realise what we’re truly capable of. Write down five things that you’d love to try, but have been too scared to do up until now. It could be to learn a language, start salsa dancing or go travelling. Then choose one and decide to do it this year. Dare to be a beginner at something, regardless of what others might think or what you look like doing it. Take a risk and who knows what might happen. Need inspiration? Find out why pushing past your comfort zone is critical to success here.

3. Live your life your way: Follow your own intuition and trust in yourself and the universe. What do you want in life? What is going to make you smile every day. Focus on that. What steps do you need to make it happen? Take Do What You Love’s flagship e-course and discover what you want more than anything – and make it happen!

4. Be kind: We always remember those people who touch our hearts with their thoughtful actions or kind words. Be that person to others as often as possible. And remember to be kind and respectful to yourself too. Take care of your body, mind and soul and make choices that make you feel good. We love these 100 random acts of kindness.

5. Live in the moment as much as you can: the moment is really all there is. Watch this inspiring TED Talk by Andy Puddicombe about being in the here and now, the importance of taking care of our mind and why we should all take time to do nothing more often.

What if you were on your last jellybean, looking back over your life… what would you change? What kind of difference would you love to have made in the world? Who would you have liked to have spent more time with? What activities do you regret not trying? Can you make more of a difference than you are making now, with the resources you have? If it’s money you have a lot of, can you be more generous with it? If it’s a talent, can you give it for free at times? What mark would you like to leave on the world?
